Cross Border Challenge to feature Archway Insurance 10K

Posted by  On March 7, 2013

Archway is pleased to announce a three-year commitment to the Cumberland YMCA’s Cross Border Challenge. Along with insuring partner Intact Insurance, Archway has committed $5,000 per year to the success of this annual event. In exchange for their support, Archway will be the named sponsor of the 10K road race.

“We’re very pleased to have Archway and Intact insurance enlarge their contribution in our event,” says Paul Giroux, Race Director. “For a number of years, they have provided us with event insurance, and Michael Stack and the rest of the staff at Archway are great to deal with.  We’re happy to see the relationship extended with the Archway Insurance 10K.”

The Archway/Intact sponsorship was announced during the monthly meeting of the Cumberland Y Service Club.

“As a local business, we understand the need to support events like the Cross Border Challenge,” says Michael Stack, Archway Vice-President. “In addition to supporting a number of local charities, this road race showcases our area, and is attracting a growing number of runners from Atlantic Canada and beyond.”

The Cross Border Challenge is organized and operated by the Cumberland Y Service Club.  The event has grown from a single 10K race, to a multi-event, multi-distance series of races based in Cumberland County.  Since its inception, participation continues to grow, along with the club’s contribution to participating charities. This year, the club is supporting:

  • Cumberland YMCA
  • Cumberland Health Care Foundation
  • United Way of Cumberland County
  • Shriners Hospital for Children

“Our contribution to the community continues to grow,” adds Giroux. “With the support of corporate partners like Archway Insurance, we are on poised to turn the Cross Border Challenge into a major regional event.”
